Appropriate transfer credits from other institutions and universities, as well as Advanced Placement Credits (PA), College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), International Baccalaureate (IB) and DANTES Subject Standardized Test (DSST), apply to LCC General Education requirements for all degrees, including diplomas, that would otherwise require the conclusion of the full MTA. However, due to national rules, previous learning areas, such as CLEP, IB and DSST, are not currently applicable to MTA confirmation. The Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) facilitates the transfer of students from community colleges to four-year colleges and Michigan universities. By carefully selecting courses, students can obtain an associate degree from LMC and complete the MTA; However, students do not need to graduate to obtain the MTA designation. Students who wish to request the “Michigan Transfer Agreement Satisfied” statement on their transcript should contact the Records Office for an MTA rating. We look forward to seeing you continue your studies with us. Whether you`ve gone from a community school or another four-year school to GVSU, the start of a new university creates unique opportunities. Our goal is your success, so let us support you in your transition. Students who move from a Michigan public college to the Great Valley with the MTA/MACRAO recognized diploma have completed the basics of the General Education Program and one (1) Supplemental Writing Skills (SWS). Transfer students with an MTA/MACRAO must continue to meet the following requirements: one (1) SWS course at their main or university college and capstone in that major and, if necessary, B.A. or B.S. In addition, transfer students with an MTA/MACRAO must also meet the following general education requirements: the cultural requirement for two courses and two (2) exit courses. TRANSFER PLANS Transfer plans for Michigan Community Colleges will show you exactly which courses to take based on your scheduled main course at GVSU.
This allows you to transfer the maximum number of credits when it`s time to start courses at GVSU. COURSE EQUIVALENCIES Course-Equivalencies shows you how courses are transferred from other colleges and universities to GVSU. As soon as you apply for admission and send official transcripts, you will receive a formal assessment of the transfers. MICHIGAN TRANSFER AGREEMENT The Michigan Transfer Agreement will help you move from your Community College to a four-year university or University of Michigan. Grande Valley State University has been selected as a member of Phi Theta Kappa 2017 Transfer Honor Roll, which pays tribute to excellent performances in creating college transfer trails. GvSU is one of 65 federally selected institutions that receive this award. In 2012, Michigan`s legislature passed the language in the Community College`s endowments act, which focused on improving the portability of basic education, revising the current agreement of the Michigan Association of Registrars and Admissions Officers (MACRAO) and renaming it the Michigan Transfer Agreement. Lake Michigan College has the following transfer articulation agreements with the universities listed below. A course that is transferred by another university or university to LCC and does not correspond to a specific LCC course can be used to satisfy the MTA if it is a general education course that is in one of the areas of the MTA and complies with the LCC`s MTA guidelines. To consider such a course for MTA, complete the MtA substitution application form and send it to the Academic Affairs Office.
MiTRANSFER PATHWAYS GVSU is proud to participate in the MiTransfer Pathways while continuing our support of Michigan Transfer students.
